Hybrid Wedding Coverage FAQs

Hybrid Wedding Coverage FAQs

What is hybrid wedding photography?

Hybrid wedding coverage seamlessly combines the best of both photography and videography in a single package. While stunning photos are essential, capturing the day’s moments in video adds a deeply emotional layer to your story. With hybrid coverage, you don’t have to choose between the two; you can enjoy the unique benefits of both.

What will I receive in my package?

My Hybrid Photo + Video package offers comprehensive coverage, including 8 hours of full-day coverage. You will receive at least 500 photos and a 3-5 minute highlight film composed of video clips captured throughout the day, all expertly edited to music. This package also includes a second photographer at no extra cost, ensuring every moment is beautifully documented.

How is it possible to capture both photo and video at the same time?

With modern wedding photography cameras, capturing both stunning photos and emotional video moments has become surprisingly efficient, given the right practice and experience. I always carry two cameras during wedding shoots, allowing me to switch lenses quickly. My cameras can effortlessly switch from photo to video mode with just a flick of a switch. This enables me to seamlessly capture both beautiful wedding photos and memorable video clips simultaneously.

Is there a risk of missing key moments due to doing both photo and video at the same time?

A common concern among couples considering hybrid wedding coverage is the fear of missing key moments. I have dedicated time to perfecting this technique to ensure no important moments are missed. Throughout the day, I can swiftly switch between photo and video settings. For pivotal moments like the first kiss, I use two cameras simultaneously to capture both photo and video seamlessly. Additionally, my second shooter captures different angles at the same time, ensuring that every special moment is beautifully documented.

Will there be audio from the day in my video?

The short answer is no, but let me explain further! For your wedding day, I will be creating a highlight video composed of various short video clips captured throughout the day. These clips will be edited together with music to create a beautiful 3-5 minute film. Currently, audio from the day, such as vows and speeches, is not included due to the brief nature of the highlight film.

If capturing the audio of your ceremony and speeches is important to you, I recommend booking one of our Wedding Videography packages. Our dedicated team can produce a full-feature video that includes all these special moments. However, if you would like a small amount of audio included, please let me know. We can discuss creating a bespoke product tailored to your needs.

What is the difference between hiring a hybrid shooter and hiring a photographer and videographer separately?

The ideal wedding photography and videography option depends on your priorities. If you want a full production video with audio from your wedding day, consider booking one of our Wedding Videography packages. This allows a dedicated team to focus on capturing and editing all the essential moments, ensuring a high-quality result. However, if you’re looking for a shorter, highlight film as a memorable keepsake, hybrid wedding coverage is an excellent choice. This approach is perfect for couples who want both photo and video content while keeping costs down.

Hybrid wedding coverage offers the best of both worlds, providing stunning photos and a highlight video of your special day. It’s a fantastic compromise if you want some video but also need to manage your budget. Additionally, hiring separate photo and video teams means more suppliers at your wedding, which might feel overwhelming if you prefer a more intimate atmosphere.

Ultimately, the best option for your wedding photography and videography needs depends on your personal preferences and wedding vision. Whether you choose a full videography package or hybrid coverage, you can ensure your wedding day is beautifully documented and cherished forever.

What are the Benefits of Hybrid Photo and Video Coverage Over Hiring Separate Teams?

Hybrid coverage offers seamless coordination between photography and videography, ensuring that both aspects of your wedding day are captured without any interruptions. By having a single professional or team handle both photo and video, you benefit from a cohesive and consistent visual narrative. This approach reduces logistical challenges and costs, making it a more budget-friendly option for capturing your special moments. For newly-engaged couples looking to streamline their wedding planning, hybrid coverage provides a harmonious blend of stunning photos and emotive video clips, all handled by one experienced team.

Can Hybrid Coverage Effectively Capture Both Intimate Moments and Grand Events?

Absolutely! Hybrid coverage is designed to be flexible and adaptive, ensuring that both intimate moments and grand events are captured beautifully. With years of experience and the use of dual-purpose equipment, we can seamlessly switch between detailed close-ups and wide-angle shots of significant events. This versatility allows for a comprehensive documentation of your wedding day, from the quiet, candid moments to the major highlights. For newly-engaged couples seeking a holistic capture of their wedding day, hybrid coverage offers the perfect solution, blending the best of both photography and videography.

Can I choose the music for the video?

Absolutely! Let me explain. Using popular songs and commercial music in wedding videos comes with copyright issues. While I do pay for a music license for my videos, licensing popular chart songs (like your first dance song) can be extremely expensive, often costing thousands of dollars. Therefore, I always edit the videos to music that comes with my license.

However, if the choice of music is important to you, I can provide a list of licensed songs for you to choose from, ensuring you still have a say in the soundtrack of your video. Additionally, if you want to add your own music, such as your first dance song, this is possible on some social media platforms. For instance, if you share your video on Instagram, you can mute the existing music and choose trending music available on Instagram to overlay on your video.

This approach ensures you can enjoy a beautiful wedding video without the hassle and cost of expensive music licenses. If you have any questions or specific preferences, feel free to let me know!
