Mehndi Party Extravaganza

The wedding festivities began on the evening of June 13, 2024, with a vibrant Mehndi party. This pre-wedding celebration was led by our talented team member Hayley Rafferty, whose keen eye for detail and ability to capture the essence of the event added a unique touch to the photos. 

For those unfamiliar, a Mehndi party is a cherished event in Hindu and Sikh culture where the bride's hands and feet are adorned with intricate henna designs. The application of Mehndi is not just about beautification but also symbolizes blessings, luck, joy, and love for the couple. The deeper the colour of the bride's Mehndi, the happier the couple's marriage is believed to be.

The Mehndi party was a night of music, dance, and fun. Family and friends gathered around to apply the henna, share stories, and celebrate Zara’s upcoming nuptials. The air was filled with laughter and excitement as everyone enjoyed the traditional Indian food, music, and vibrant, colourful decor that set the mood for the night.

A Backyard Transformation

Zara and Steve's family put immense effort into transforming their backyard into a dream wedding venue. The attention to detail was evident in every aspect of the setup. Guests were welcomed by a beautifully lit driveway that guided them to the property, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere from the moment they arrived. 

The centrepiece of the decor was a stunning photo frame embroidered with flowers, designed for guests to have their photos taken. This thoughtful addition not only added to the aesthetic appeal but also provided a fun activity for the guests, allowing them to create lasting memories.

Delicious Catering and Entertainment

No wedding is complete without delectable food and lively entertainment, and Zara and Steve’s wedding did not disappoint. The catering was handled by Lorenzo’s Underground Kitchen, known for its exquisite culinary creations. Lorenzo Stanley and his team curated a menu that delighted all the guests, featuring a mix of traditional and contemporary dishes that catered to diverse palates. The food was not only delicious but also beautifully presented, adding to the overall elegance of the event.

DJ Dave Goossen of ST Productions provided the entertainment for the evening. Dave's ability to read the crowd and keep the energy high ensured the dance floor was always whole. His mix of classic hits and modern tunes created a perfect soundtrack for the celebration, keeping guests dancing and enjoying themselves well into the night.

A Day to Remember

The wedding ceremony was a beautiful blend of intimate moments and joyous celebrations. Zara and Steve’s love for each other was palpable throughout the day, from the heartfelt vows exchanged during the ceremony to the tender glances shared during the reception. The couple's house provided a perfect backdrop for the event, with its lush gardens and picturesque views adding to the romantic ambiance.

One of the day's highlights was the couple’s first dance, set against a stunning sunset. The golden hues of the setting sun bathed the couple in a warm glow, creating a picture-perfect moment that will be cherished forever. As the night progressed, the celebration continued with toasts, laughter, and plenty of dancing.
